Learn the art of basket making as we weave an Appalachian egg basket out of kudzu vines. All of the basket materials are gathered locally. The teacher will demonstrate how to process kudzu, harvesting techniques, and together we will all weave our own baskets to take home.

About the Instructor: Laurel York  is an artist who lives in Sewanee, TN with her family on their beautiful homestead. She has been making baskets since she was a little girl and has since taught her 5 children and many others the art of basket weaving. She learned from her parents who made and sold white oak and vine baskets for a living.

What will be provided:

- Basket weaving materials, but you will need to bring your own hand pruners.
